National Sports Day

An event dedicated to National Sports Day was held at the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine of the Faculty of Postgraduate Education, with the participation of residents as part of the Nauryznama celebrations. The celebration of National Sports Day is a cultural and sporting event aimed at promoting traditional national sports, preserving the cultural traditions of the Kazakh people, and fostering residents’ interest in a healthy lifestyle and physical activity.

The event was opened by A.Sh.Izbasarova, Head of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine, Associate Professor, Candidate of Medical Sciences, who spoke about the impact of physical activity and traditional national games on strengthening health and preventing diseases.

A report on the significance and history of Kazakhstan’s national sports, their role in the development of physical culture, health promotion, and the cultivation of team spirit among youth was delivered by Professor A.A. Turekulova, Doctor of Medical Sciences. She discussed the history and characteristics of traditional games such as “Asyk Atu” and “Arkan Tartu,” as well as their benefits in developing agility, strength, and teamwork.

Associate Professor G.A. Nurlybayeva, Candidate of Medical Sciences, emphasized the importance of promoting national traditions among residents and suggested organizing more events dedicated to national sports.

Assistant N.B. Nurgaliyeva delivered a presentation on the importance of national sports in preserving cultural heritage and their role in promoting a healthy lifestyle among young people.

Residents undergoing training at the department took an active part in the event by participating in various traditional sports games and performing flash mobs.
