In November 2022, employees of the department opened a new-generation private clinic, Interna Clinic, which offers services in the field of gastroenterology, hepatology, and internal medicine. It is the clinical base of the Department of Gastroenterology of KazNMU named after S. Asfendiyarova. The clinic is staffed by personnel from various educational departments of the university, namely teachers from the departments of Visual Diagnostics, Infectious and Tropical Diseases, and Cardiology.
The clinic has two main divisions – an outpatient unit and an inpatient unit. On the basis of the hospital, specialized medical care is provided to patients of gastroenterological, endocrinological, rheumatological, cardiological, therapeutic, and neurological profiles. The day hospital provides care to patients with rheumatological and inflammatory bowel diseases and uses therapy with genetically engineered biological drugs. The clinic is equipped with modern expert-class equipment: an endoscopic stand, ultrasound equipment, a FIBROSCAN device for indirect elastometry of the liver, ECG, 24-hour blood pressure and ECG monitor. Unique diagnostic procedures are performed, such as ultrasound of joints, ultrasound of the intestine, indirect elastometry of the liver, capsule endoscopy, and liver biopsy. Treatment procedures include endoscopic ligation of esophageal varices, resection of formations in the submucosal layer, dissection, argon plasma coagulation, and endoscopic hemostasis.
Training events are regularly held at the Clinic: lectures, seminars, advanced training courses for doctors, master classes with the participation of foreign colleagues, and round tables.
