Educational and Moral Development Activities

As part of the educational process in teaching neurosurgery, regulatory documents of the Republic of Kazakhstan are studied, including the Kazakhstan–2030 Strategy, the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Public Health and the Healthcare System.”

Special attention in the educational process is given to studying the key provisions of the policy document “Socio-Economic Modernization as the Main Vector of Kazakhstan’s Development” among faculty members and residents. In particular, issues related to accelerating Kazakhstan’s economic and social progress, patriotism and political will, a new stage of national democratization, Kazakhstan’s position in the modern world, and responsibility for the future of the country are addressed. The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Education” and the Code “On Public Health and the Healthcare System” are also studied.

The development of a positive attitude toward work, as well as respect for different cultures and languages, is carried out directly during classes through the personal example of faculty members and discussions based on real-life situations arising in the learning process. Academic groups receive brief informational updates on current events in Kazakhstan and abroad. Key issues related to healthcare and higher education reform, as well as national goals such as “Joining the ranks of the world’s 50 most developed countries,” are discussed. Anti-corruption talks and activities are regularly conducted with faculty members and residents.

Professional Development of Residents

Residents are trained in the principles of medical ethics and professional deontology. Faculty members analyze residents’ academic performance and attendance, with timely reporting to faculty dean’s offices. Intellectual and creative activity among residents is encouraged through their involvement in research activities and participation in scientific student societies.

Promotion of a Healthy Lifestyle

Significant attention is devoted to promoting a healthy lifestyle and preventing tobacco use and drug abuse, not only during specialized classes but also when studying other topics. During practical classes, educational activities are conducted in the form of discussions, surveys, demonstrations of patients, use of educational charts and training videos, and enforcement of smoking bans within the department and City Clinical Hospital No. 7. Efforts in this area are also supported through active participation of faculty members in mass media.
